Subject: Fa70 Cap Theater N1- First Ned Show
Legitimate sound issues- even on this remastered AUD- notwithstanding ms42466's counsel (from other stream) that we ought not complain (or "belly ache") about it. Great show, to be sure, that might also be incomplete. NRPS also performed and this is the first show with Ned. He sits in on the Other One->Dark Star->St. Stephen. No question, it's the definite centerpiece and highlight of this show, but because of the seriously flawed audio I'd just give the 21-minute D-Star a whirl. Said Ned: "'The Dark Star was a very abstract feedback-oriented one early on, then beautiful. It was very much "Seastones"-esque than other 'Dark Stars', characteristic of some of the earlier summer jamming." Unfortunately, you can't really hear him, but no question he's behind the inspired playing. The "then beautiful" later on that Ned refers to is a "feeling groovy" jam near its end.

Thanx Ken and SirMick. A decent audience recording of a show that has a lot of what 1970 is famous. Great rockers with an creepy Dark Star that would make Flavin proud. You will be tempted to hold your breath during the quiet passage, but don't, it's too long. A great 1970 Lovelight to close. If only an acoustic set were performed. I would love to hear the NRPS set.
I might agree with the Taper's Compendium on the GDTRFB being from another show. Check out the tone difference on Jerry's Guitar. Dead Heads need to at least hear this once. Peace

A great show given a cool remastering job. This is another one of those auds for which no sbd currently circulates. The sound quality here isn't THAT bad and sounds better than the tape I used to have many years ago. This is from a legendary run of shows and every Deadhead should listen to at least once.
