Set 1
So good and mellow fell asleep going across the Rio Grande, regain consciousness Box of Rain
Jerry riffs hard all thru El Paso!!!
T.L.E.O. is such the perfect tune in 73
just bops and bounces, Jerry and Phil!
PLAYIN' vey mellow and easily they launch.
Wife and I have a big conversation about P.I.T.B
She says they are all playing in different directions, long and short says they must be smoking some crazy sh-t.
Me explain Main ten then exploration then back to Main theme. Donna goes off, Jerry can yell louder with his guitar. No more conversation I want to keep out of doghouse. Smokin hot!!!
Set 2
Promised> Bertha> Greatest
Donna jumps into this 3 song fray and we get one of the hottest Greatest Story-IMO.
He's Gone-Very laid back , the tuning just before the song is cool, the delivery by Garcia and the backing vocals are great. Keith nice in the mix.
"you know better but I know him"
A very soulful He's Gone, Good Bass riffs and nice baritone from Phil.
Truckin into a Nobodies Fault jam> and then
1:33 seconds of Billy hitting the skins--Not even enough time to get off stage for the rest of the band. That is O.K. they are needed for the OTHER ONE... I like this set it has a lot of jump to it.
A little bit of a different take on the Other ONE
I know you rider coming out of Space now that is original.
(In 85 in N.J. they pulled off a Half Step> Rider to open the night and I thought that was superb.
Anyway I like shows when they are on and also take the path less traveled.)
The I KNOW YOU RIDER out of SPACE is worth the price of admission.
This is the kinda stuff that got me crying tears of joy at a show.
I suspect many had no idea that they were even galloping into 'Rider' it is just really unexpected especially at this point in the show
Sugar Magnolia- Too much of a scream fest towards the end but jerry never stops getting in his licks
E) Casey Jones!
