Nice jam sequence, rest of show not so great
That pretty much sums it up. Truckin through Mind Left Body Jam is great, and it even sounds a bit like Heaven Help the Fool during the MLB jam. But then they go into Row Jimmy. WTF?? Nothing happens after that to write home about. The lack of secondary jams, other than China>Rider and maybe Half Step, pull this show down to a pretty pedestrian level, especially for 74. Still, on the strength of the big jam, I'm giving it 4 stars. A low 4.

Venue was Reno Football Field at University Of Nevada
Hard to find the venue for this show - Deadbase,
Dead.net, reviews, all silent on this, but I found a poster for the show... Cheers, Tom

Nobodies fault but mine.
It would be great if everything in this life was as easily available as all these absolutely incredible shows.
Here is my take on a 5 star show:
Does show have great sound?
Good tune Selection?
Interesting jam sequence(s)?
Am I stoked after listening to the show?
Would I listen to this again?
Would I recommend it to someone else?
More Dead!!!
My theory on Bobby's vocal flub during Other One:
-Some hot mama just flashed Weir her rack!
"Spanish lady come to me
she lays on me this rose"
I love the transition into Row Jimmy Row...
Big River so HOT back in the day.
Ship of Fools in the final ballad spot :)
P.S. -Donna Jean is high octane on Greatest Story!

Tame for '74
I've always felt this was one of the more tame '74 shows, nothing much really going on here..although the Other One has it's moments. Donna is worse than usual on several numbers. Not a bad show but much more to dig into from '74 for sure.

Good.
Pretty average show, I guess. I think the first is the better set in terms of performance.

The band is playing pretty well the whole show, especially Keith. However, both Jerry and Bobby mess up the vocals and lyrics a number of times through out the show (The Other One for example). Donna's owl screech is a bit much on some of the tunes as well and it kinds ruins the moment at times.
The sound is real good but not great. But this show is certainly worth your time, especially the Truckin' > Nobody's jam > Other One > MLB jam > Row Jimmy. I believe it's the first Truckin' played on the wall of sound and you can tell the bands excited to play such a great song on such an incredible sound set up. Some great jams later they pull you back to reality with an excellent transition into Row Jimmy.
4 stars and totally worth a listen.

Probably a 3 1/2
"Spanish lady she come to me, She beh beh b'dehdehdeh"?? Really Bobby???
'74 is probably my favourite year for the Dead and while this is a great show, it's not their best of the year. Donna actually kills a few of the tunes (not in colloquial sense of the word... she actually butchers them). Overall, it's a good listen though especially for the Truckin->Other One->MLB Jam which is excellent.
