Note: U.S. Blues appears in its entirety at the end of disc 2, and in an
abbreviated form at the end of disc 3. I don't know why this is, but I'm
guessing it's because if the entire U.S. Blues were on disc 3, the disc
would be longer than 74 minutes. So, if I were respinning this myself,
I'd eliminate d3t8 and just put d2t6 in its place. It would be greater
than a 74 minute disc, but would definitely fit on an 80. Regardless,
I present to you here the show exactly in the form I received it.

Let's tune...
Hey, I get it. They weren't always in tune, and that's OK. The issue I have with this song is HOW out of tune the guitars are compared to the keys/bass. It's unacceptably bad. That said, the vibe is amazing, and it's almost as if the band paid no attention to it. It would have driven me crazy though. Perhaps my favorite GD song of all time, so maybe that's why I'm mentioning the clash of intonation.

Another 76' treasure !
Has anyone paid close attention to the lyrics Jerry sings in H.T? Im nearly positive he sings (either), "...the leader(s)named Jerome...." or "the leader is called Jerome.." Or, is it just my wishful audio capabilities playing tricks on me? From the beginnings of CR&S to the final note of PitB, set one is cooking along quite nicely & the song selection is pretty cool. Jerry & the pirates are very strong throughout set 1. Every song is played well. For me the highs in set 1: Row Jerry, Cassidy, Might as Well, Lazy Light is played strong albeit a real short Supplication, and a HUGE 1st set Playin (reminds me of the shows of 72' where Playin' was still a 1st set contender. this time, Jerry seems to find new progressions and the band, at times, giving him the room to do so, and other times the band and Jerry seem to bounce off of each other). Second set; man what can I say? It ROCKS! Another interesting selection of tunes as well. Crazy>Drumz>Dancin>Cosmic - WHOA :) :)... just when you think "there's no way they can bounce back from that kind of playing..." - The Dead spins us (w/love) HARD... wrapping it up w/ a super high energy Help>Slip>Franklins! Best show the band ever played? Probably not, but this show has got to be in the top ten of 1976, and simply put: it SMOKES. Find a copy to keep! I was lucky and downloaded for 2years straight before the archive shut down the SDB's. So Ive got a copy, but not this particular recording. Thanks for keeping this around so others may stumble upon it!

Cats Down Under The Stars
After PITB, Jerry plays the opening chords to CATS DOWN UNDER THE STARS. Probably inspired by the ornate theatre design of The Beacon.

Proud and Clear
Wow! I'm only up to Big River so far and the boys sound so confident. Everything from the vocals to Bobby guitar to the high hats is clear as a bell. Worth so much so far I can't wait to hear whats in store from the rest of the show.
