Thank you Dave Davis for putting up Dave Weidner's recording. I too know Dave Weidner since he is my dad( my real name is Luke). My dad Dave is the best taper I know- he has taped Dead concerts from 1977-93, though he started seeing them in '73. My dad is doing well and he and I have seen several spin off shows like Phil and Friends, Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers, and Dead and Company. Right now my dad and I are burning his Dead shows( from his bad ass Beta tapes) from the late 80s to early 90s. These shows are reaching the end of their shelf life and if we don't preserve his recordings, they will be lost in the ozone.
I too have inherited my dad's taping skills. I taped my first Dead show on 6/11/2019; it was Phil and Friends @ the Capitol Theater in Port Chester NY, and Jorma Kaukonen was there( I was 19 going on 20, not bad for a newb).
Besides the Dead, my dad has also taped Jerry Garcia Band, Robert Hunter, New Riders of the Purple Sage, David Nelson Band, Kingfish, Allman Brothers, The Band, Hot Tuna, Bob Dylan, ERIC CLAPTON, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, David Grisman, John Mayall, Bruce Hornsby, Black Crowes, Marshall Tucker Band, Rick Danko, and Levon Helm. Will he upload more of his magic idk? He works like a submarine; he surfaces whenever he wants. Thanks again to Dave Davis and Charlie Miller for sharing my dad's spectacular show and may the four winds blow you safely home again.
Update: my dad also taped Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young and David Bromberg.

Interesting document of the first really good show of the Spring '77 tour. Keith is really trying to make his new electric organ work but it sometimes doesn't. Still Jerry is really on it at this show. One of the most balls to the wall versions of Scarlet, the crowd is so pumped, and while there is no jam, a great Fire is after and shows good progress on that song so far. Wonderful H>S>F.

I met Dave Weidner at this show. Read here: http://www.gratefulseconds.com/2018/10/dick-latvalas-excellent-taper-source.html
I believe this is the best sounding AUD of this night and perhaps the best sounding recording of this night too.
This is also the only show of 8 I saw in 1977 that does not have a dead.net release, although it might be my favorite one.
Charlie Miller did an amazing job mastering this one. I hopeDave Weidner releases more shows soon

I just heard about Dave Weidner releasing his masterful recording on the GD sub on Reddit by Gratefulseconds.com (one of if not THE deepest hardcore deadhead blogs) I grabbed the flac of his site but this is the same copy and boy what a show this is. This is a 5 star 77 show, hot from start to finish with a killer sugaree opener to the scarlet>fire 1st set closer! 2nd set is deep and drippy with an all time classic help>slip>franklins, with Keith doing some crazy keyboard stuff in 'slipknot' that he's never done before or since..Great show great recording...
