This is from the original TDK baby blue 4X CDRs burned by the person that did the DAT>CDR conversion that were used for the Audio CD tree distrbuted in Nov 1999 via a commercial CD duplicator and is a couple EACs before it was SHNed up for http://db.etree.org/shn/283 by Doug who got it in an Audio CDR trade a couple months later.
So the lineage of this is MR>PCM>DAT>HD>CDR>EAC>Flac level 8 via TLH>this torrent.
Thanks to Rob, Andy and Skankweed for the original seed from the old BUDD email list
[Which I think stood for Bountiful Universe of Digital Dead]

Smoking Wharf Rat!
This whole year is just awesome. (My first show was Englishtown in Sept. 77, so I may be a little biased!) Like the best Wharf Rats out there, it builds beautifully then explodes gloriously. The whole band kicks it out, and Jerry's guitar at the top just gave me chills.

Very simply--Great show!
Went to 11/5/77 in Rochester! Best show I ever attended! Listening to this show--it is close! Garcia is on fire for the whole show--incredible! Dead Heads--don't underestimate these shows--they are the best of the best!

Now we play for life...
Great Half Step opener
with Garcia getting some on the extended jam.
Mellow Jack Straw chaser
In fact everything about 1977 is pretty much laid back
except when they go into jam mode
then the contrast is stunning.
I love Donna Jean's vocals
integrated into the music.
She sounds good here!
also she shines on any JGB
I can get my hands on from this time period.
Take a step back,,, I heard that at a few shows
but no clue which ones they were.
General Admission often the issue.
I liked GA because it took the ushers out of play
but the magnetic draw of being up front
"like a moth before a flame"
Tenn Jed-easy to take this for granted
After Europe 72 this song an uphill battle
but was fun live for dancing and yes swooning.
Great sound on this recording
most of the comments are on the other Soundboard.
Switched over to other soundboard now back
for Dire Wolf. 'Don't Murder me"
Another one of those tunes
I often forget about when making up fantasy set lists.
In 1978 they slightly revamped this tune and just nailed it.
this is a good version, sing along material.
Pretty creative 1st set list and a Music Never closer
"High Stepping into town"
Bobby with some lyric malfunctions
Here comes Garcia!
A nice 8 minutes of MNS...
Samson
"It being Sunday we are going to do a little tune of spiritual derivation" -Weir
Nice Samson, Can't go wrong with Samson & Delilah
Sunrise-I like Donna Jean so I dig this tune
She has a great voice.
When we head outside the Garcia and Weir Universe
Tunes like Sunrise add another dimension
to the GD songbook
Can you answer > = < YES i can
St.Stephen>Drums>N.F.A>Wharf Rat>Stephen>Truckin' E) Johnny B
Truckin' as 2nd set closer anytime!!!
It has that little extra umppphhhh.
closer mojo...
Johnny 'B' great for an encore
ensemble singing at its best.
