Matt's Comments:
This is a straight transfer using my Technics 1506 reel to reel with a Lamb Labs Dolby decoder in the transfer chain since the reel was Dolby encoded.
Thanks to Pat Lee for lending me the Dolby unit
Special thanks to Adam Aegart for the Technics RS1506.
Special thanks to Charlie Miller for providing the reels.

Subject: Nice Job
This was the most awesome of all the GD shows I attended. Some sloppiness but most songs exhibit fire -- especially Jerry on his souped-up Wolf Guitar. Many of these songs are my alltime favorite versions like PITB, China Rider, China Doll, etc and the PITB Reprise where Jerry lets it all hang out ala Peter Townshend of the Who.
As a result of this show I went on tour with the band for the only time I ever toured with them. I saw all the subsequent shows at Winterland in Dec and then all of the January shows in Calif. Except for some fiery shows in the first part of 1978 (like 4-12-78 Cameron) the Dead never really retained the same fire and it seemed they just gradually slipped ever so incrementally in enthusiasm. Well, they never really captured it like in this show and numerous others of the 1977 year.
This ranks as the greatest of all but my Rating reflects the stream quality only.
