Subject: One more set!
A " standard" looking 1st set on paper is hardly the case.. as it resembles a set from 1977, and is played with bravado!
Set II is a wonderful and joyous experience from beginning to end. In the early 1980's Franklin's Tower could turn up anywhere and this version is rollicking.
The only " new" tune this show is Women is Smarter and Jerry is just dancing on water for this one. Bobby is a hoot and doesn't want it to end either.
Phil is dropping bombs the entire night, and he does saturate this source very often but I do prefer this version compared to the other sources. Jerry and the drums sounds quite good as does Brent.
This was really the fuse that lite the fire of this amazing mid summer tour that would wander through the inter mountain and Midwest ending in Iowa City. This tour is one of my favorite and every night has something quite special and the ensemble playing by all is top notch.
Plus it was Phil's second to last tour with his four string and he is all over it...big time!
Happy trails.
