Subject: Great show!
Subject: Great show!
This was a great show at a great venue. In my ten or years of touring this is one that has always stood out. Garcia stayed on stage for most of drums, it was pretty wild. And this was the best drums I've seen. Billy and Mickey got into this weird rhythm and the cloud was clapping along with it for a long time. It wasn't that annoying loud, fast clapping with no beat. The crowd actually was clapping in time with the drums and half the audience clapped on half the beat and the other half clapped on the other. Very hard to describe but it was as if the crowd was just another percussion instrument that Billy and Mickey were playing. Then after a bit before they started another part of drums Mickey yelled out something praising the crowd for their part in drums. So cool. Then he had his cosmic static electricity globe that he did amazing things with, Awesome show, Day Tripper to close the 2nd set! Saw that one other time in SF 84 New Years. Fucking great!
