Much better than the more well-known first night. This show is one of the all-time greats and hardly circulated back in the day. This is an incredible recording with more of a true representation of Phil's power than any other recording I've heard. Check out the beginning of Samson as one example. The first set is rock solid with each song kind of a surprise. Unique to have Stagger Lee in a show that opens with Half Step maybe...and a Big RR. The Looks Like Rain is one of the great ones with pleading falsetto and delays on the vocals which reappear later in the 84 throwback version of He's Gone. China Cat is unique, fast and with a quick swing to it that never lets up. Oh yeah, that Might as Well is prob the best one they did.
