good board average show
I’ve never read anything nice about this show and based on what I’ve read, I almost feel guilty listening to this pristine Charlie Miller soundboard knowing that most fans suffered to hear a clear note amid the significant echo. I once went to an AC/DC show I’m the top section of Gillette Stadium, which the sound crew clearly had not taken into consideration, and the echo latency was a full second. That said, I’ve been to Grateful Dead shows in the absolute nosebleeds of Giants and RFK Stadiums and felt like I was listening to an amazing stereo in someone’s back yard. But I guess the former home of the Twins was too much even for Dan Healy to dream up an auditory solution. The soundboard reveals none of those issues needless to say.
It’s their first one-set show in a while and it has some of the hesitancy I saw in the band even during a two set one a few days later in Buffalo. That must have been a weird tour. There aren’t a lot of real takeaways from the “first set” part of the show aside from the bonus Aiko in the middle of it. Everything is serviceable but they keep everything close to the ground almost like they don’t want to forget they are doing this unfamiliar one-set thing. When Terrapin starts, it’s not necessarily clear that they aren’t coming to their senses and finally using this as a spacey set closer not unlike Let it Grow. It’s clear though when it veers into Estimated that you better not go grab a popcorn or the Grateful Dead show may be over when you get back. (I’m not really sure how efficient concessions were at this event).

Nice
We finally have a listenable source of a show that I had a ton of fun at yet is kind of a stinker.
Of course the sound is good on this version because of the source. I say it is a 5 star sound but a rather uneventful show. Only thing I find unique about this one is the fact that it caught all of us off guard. Having only 1 set then Dylan Petty , we left early.
If Boreal Ridge is the stinker of 85 this is the stinker of 86. although RFK is close behind.
Download it for the novelty of one long set .
Called it a 5 star sound but giving it 4 cause it's incomplete and hope people do download it for quality purposes .
