There's nothing like a Grateful Dead Concert.
To this day, the title is true. Phish, nope. Goose, sorry. Nothing like it...watching a video someone made of a dancing section at this show is giving me chills, I am holding back tears of joy, and getting a contact high 36 years later. The crowd was sooooo into this show...dancing ecstatically without worrying about someone's cell phone video of them going online...back when people danced hardcore gently...back when you meander through the crowd and no one would bump in to you...everyone was high, bouncing, smiling, happy, loving. Words cannot describe how I feel watching this video...I only searched the show after watching this video, figuring out what show it is by searching the song order. This one debby downer dude in the comments is a real bummer. Don't read it, don't believe it. This show is absolute fire. Who wouldn't pay $200 to see ONE Song of it played by Jerry and the boys today? I know I would and would be getting a heck of a deal. Be grateful if you saw Jerry. Because there is NOTHING like a Grateful Dead concert.

My First Dead Show
Was 17 years old and a senior in High school, and finally got to experience a live dead show. The sound of the band blew me away and validated the old saying that there is nothing like a Grateful Dead show. Saw the boys another 25-30 times, and this show was somewhere in the middle as far as sound, set-list and energy go. Still, it was enough to get me to hop on the bus. I'm more Garcia obsessed now than I was then, but this was the start!

Good Golly Brent!
This is such a high energy 1987 show. The Greatest Story > Devil > Molly > Devil is pure Brent greatness. 100% "Grateful Dead" transitions between all. So awesome.
I always felt the early Summer of '87 got the heavy rotation...and the Sept. shows got ignored a bit. DO NOT ignore this jem.
Great C. Miller SBD (as always).
Best version of WLA Fadeaway ever by the way...

Good Golly 9-18-87's little bro
This show has some fine moments in it. The sound is still a bit tinny and distant especially in the 1st set, alah 87, but defiantly an upgrade on what I've heard before. Anyway some super highlights in the 1st set here, the biggest in my view is the Cassidy. Listen and weep or dance or break chairs, or whatever it is you do when you hear the best of the best Possibly an all timer.
First half of the Second set is also just pure perfection. Some minor vocal flubs there but damn, Jerry's playing on China Doll is what religions are made of. Wheel out of space is no slouch either although it peters out to soon for my liking at the end. Rest is standard but good till the end but the meat of this show is pretty much everything Pre-Wheel. Solid 4 star sound and show with 5 star moments.
