Smokin shows... and this recording captures it well. We were up from NH to see the double bill with Little Feat. Speedway parking lot circus is in full swing, cops ignoring just about everything. Trade is brisk among the vendors...of every thing possible from bagels to shrooms. Weather was terrific and the camping was fine as well. As always, met some cool folks and made new friends.
Mail order tix had a special gate for pre entry and when it opened we staked our "dancefloor" with a blanket dead center about 6 rows back.
This venue was camera friendly and I remember getting on this tall dude's shoulders to shoot some especially sweet shots of Jerry with the dark clouds behind him as night settled in. Still my favorite photos of him today.

Great recording of the second night at this small, epiphany procuring venue. The audience noises in the back round capture the anticipations and blissful moments, as well as a general vibe of rapt attention. (truly amazing - it was a highly attentive crowd)
In a way, the four sets of the two nights were like one show with an overnight extendo-halftime. (so get this taper's 7.2.88 download, then listen to them in tandem)
Not my first shows, but it was at Oxford Plains that I realized I was on the bus for the long haul.
