Good Times...
What a show. Scored 5th row tickets along with my friend Daniel and drove 16 hours from NYC just for this show after having seen the NC and PA shows beforehand. As soon as the show started all the folding chairs in our section were stacked up (they had not been tie-wrapped to each other, LOL!) and it was a lovefest afterwards. Michigan had just won the NCAA Basketball championship so the campus was one big 'ole party and the boys in the band were determined to both keep it going and make the two shows there special. And this one was truly special, inventive setlist accompanied with stellar playing. And because my friend had to go to work the following night, we got back into the car after the show and drove back the 16 hours back to NYC. And yes, it was worth the drive! It was the attention to details that made this all worthwhile, from only the 2nd 1st set US Blues since 6/22/76 (12/31/86 being the other) to a great 2nd set Cumberland Blues to a beautiful China Doll out of Space and a Quinn to wrap it all up at the end, this one was a keeper. Replaying it on its 26th Anniversary as I type and it has aged like a fine wine. More than anything I miss Jerry's vocals, nobody sang with as much soul as he did. Cheers!

Possibly the best show ever!
a setlist like a dream, perfect playing and endless jams. Add Charlie Miller to the list and you have one for the ages. Sometimes I think I was at this show but that's impossible because I was in Virginia at the time. rock on!

I like '89
I probably saw the Dead at least a hundred times until screaming Donna Jean turned me off.
Pretty much gave up on their concerts after that but going back and listening I'm very impressed with '89 and '90.
This is definitely one of the best of that period.

Greeeat Night!
I was in the front for this show, and it was
probably the best Detroit area show I saw since
'76! "High" point was Jerry having to walk an
obviously wasted Brent through the chords of
"Dupree's". Pretty funny!

my first show
Where to start? The lot and the spider web design.......then things got interesting. Feels to start me into this new world and Quinn to leave me blown out. I knew in the middle of LIG/US that I was home.
A beautiful young girl and a wonderful trip filled with great music what I have come to know now was second only to the birth of my children as the purest sensation of love.
Still in love!
This is one of the best 89's and the next night was also great.Saw more thatn 75 shows before the ride ended, but I'm not leaving the bus dammit.

Great
The sound quality is just great and Bob seems energized to be playing at the University of Michigan. Jerry has some sensational guitar and guides through two very entertaining set lists. The Dylan covers enhance the range and mood. Very enjoyable and fun. Check out the drums and space and let your mind explore.

True Gem
This is a really well played show for all you Jerry lovers out there. The best parts of the show for me were the end of the first set with LIG/US Blues (note the unusual placement of US), and the beginning on the second with Sampson and a blistering Cumberland.
4 stars seems too few, but I couldn't quite give it a 5. It's more like a 4.75! The setlists may not appear that great at first glance, but trust me you will really enjoy this show.
