The Scarlet>Fire is in the running for the best post 78 Scarlet>Fire. This is a top 5 show of the 1990's for sure, maybe a top 20 show all time. I would not have even considered this show had it not been for the inclusion of the Scarlet>Fire on the So Many Roads boxset, but I am glad I sought it out.

This copy sounds excellent
The tone here sounds great, even better than the CM and the HS, IMO.
The newer Kevin Tobin is a close second. Actually, it sounds like Tobin used the same aud source.
And the show is one of the best of the 1990s, not just because of the SF.
You need to download this.

How Could it be 21 Years Later
Great road trip to Hamilton. Slept in the parking lot for both shows. Great crowd. Band was on Fire. Great times!

Dan- meet Charlie. Charlie- meet Jay. Jay- meet Dan
Guys- The perfect transfer is lurking in here, but it's not this one, and it's not Jay Ashley's and sorry Charlie. Jay left out the high end and there is about 5% too much kick at about 80Hz. Dan- where did you hide the vocals? Charlie- it's a little flat.
Jay- give some low end punch to Dan, and Dan- grab some vocals from Charlie, and it will be juuuuuuuuust right!

Smokin' Show!
Let me start by saying that I am not a fan of 1990 Dead AT ALL, but I can't deny this show. Jerry is rippin', and so is the rest of the band.
This is the kind of show that changes my opinion of the later Dead years. The jam in and out of The Other One is epic and energetic.
Glad I stumbled across this!

in Spades better than the night before
Set one starts with energy, but ends with 3 of my least favorite songs. The West LA is very tight, although maybe not as jammed out as some early 80's versions. Probably my favorite version of easy to love you, which just nails it.
Set 2
scarlet fire is ok, tight, but no imensly new ground.
yes Brent totally flubs hey Jude but the band seemed to try and make up for it with some extra effort in mr fantasy.
Show 4.1
sound 5.1

What more to say
The west may be the best, but the east is really the beast. And boy were we blessed with some great shows. From the fall tour of the previous year to the summer of 90 the boys were firing on all cylinders...this is one of those shows that left you tripping over your feet as you walked back to the parking lot...Beutiful..absolutely beutiful. Im proud to say I was in attendence for this one...and listening to this today still sends shivers up my back.

Wowsa!
This is a absolutely fantastic matrix. Thanks Dan! The show is exceptional from start to finish. The Scarlet-Fire is a late-era legend with the band just firing on all cylinders and Garcia's guitar work is blazing with jaw-dropping runs particularly in the Fire. The first part of Hey Jude is clearly unrehearsed but is charming anyway. The "Believe It Or Not" is curiously missing the guitar solo. Still, this is killer example of the strength of the Spring '90 tour. All members are so good it's impossible for me to pick out a MVP; Group-think telepathic jamming at its best.

Bravo!
Congrats to Dan Haugh! What a show ... what an offering on the LAMA.
Terrific matrix of this show, really. I have always been a big fan of auds + sbds. The clarity of the sbd is retained and the excitement of the crowd is captured, and imo, it enhances the package. After all, it's LIVE, baby!
The show itself is extremely well played ... Jerry is in superb voice ... the jams are inspiring ... YOU GOTTA' LOVE THIS STUFF!
KUDOS, Dan!
