1st set only needed minor patching and 2nd set was missing over a minute at the end of Drums.
Speedwise the audience was close when compared to other recordings - .250 seconds per minute slow.

Subject: Diamond bullets ripping up the night
With the boxed set release of this show, and four others from the infamous Giant's Stadium one has to wonder? Was this massive stadium in the Meadowlands hallow ground?
The short answer is a resounding yes!
I was not able to attend one of the Spring tour shows with Hornsby joining the band, so this was the first one and I have to say I have never seen Jerry so into another musician on stage. This was before the term bromance was coined and clearly Jerry and Bruce were head over heals.
This entire show is wicked tight but that not does diminish any intensity, it actually heightens it.
The band breaks out of the gate with a stellar, if not perfect Picasso Moon, that is simply bubbles over with energy and zaniness. This shows was recorded on 48 tracks, this SB does not offer any out of the ordinary insights into that...but if you are lucky to purchase the high resolution official release... you will simply be blown away!
Phil is a complete monster this entire show, which is also very welcomed by this reviewer.
Jerry clearly being in a great mood ups the anti with a rip roaring Bertha, that again is a completely ensemble effort.
Rooster is raw! The band lets loose big time. Jerry is simply in it here to play, and play extremely well. No off key slide solos from Bob tonight either.
A refreshing Candyman lets the good vibes continue and the band settles in nicely.
A rare Memphis Blues is off the hook, with its upbeat and breakneck tempo, with Bob preaching to the choir in the end zone of Giant Stadium. It is really a glorious highlight of this fun set.
Now you might wonder? A late set Stagger Lee? Do not fear ye faithful as this version is a complete rocker! It hints back to the earlier version played about 4 years earlier.
The band out among the reeds of the Meadowlands unleashes a soothing and cerebral Let It Grow. It is more subtle and delicate as earlier selections in this set but the band, along with Bruce, thoroughly explore all the nuances of this highly enjoyable version.
Set II starts off with a refreshing second set Jack Straw, which is full of that galloping urgency that makes this song the classic it is, Bruce picks up a verse as well and offers some very commanding playing as well.
Surprise number 2...Crazy Fingers. Yet another water song and Jerry is completely in his prime and delivers a text book perfect reading of this unique classic. The ending jam is completely enthralling and there is not a missed note by anyone.
Then surprise #3?!? And what a surprise as this beautiful ending drop perfectly into China Cat Sunflower! Deadbase makes no special note of this but I am pretty sure this may have only happened once or twice before if at all.
This is what Bruce helped bring to this band... the love of spontaneity and connecting songs that seemed once like only a dream but would work out perfectly. The race to I Know You Rider is simply incredible and as I remember for the majority of folks in attendance that afternoon, it was a mind blower!
No disappointments from the faithful with only four song before drumz this afternoon. As quality over quantity always trumps at a Dead Show.
The D/S is very good and is again more like the Let It Grow, cerebral and pleasant to one's ears, but again full of details and nuances that make this section of the show refreshing to hear.
The band drops into a crowd favorite that is simply a stadium rocker, as we all rejoiced along with the hundreds who were in attendance who were looking for a Miracle. This version is a couple minutes longer than usual as well and get a little bluesy at the end with an almost Nobody's Fault But Mine tease.
This next drops into a excellent Black Peter, this may be the one Jerry ballad that was often not as strong as the others played in the final years of this band tenure, but tonight we are all treated to an EPIC version with no signs of Jerry feeling like he is near death's door...actuality he is no where near it!
The band then rushes to the finished line with a text book, and complete rocking Throwing Stones>NFA. The band simply just rages during NFA and it is a extremely exceptional version.
Phil puts the icing on the cake with a heartfelt reading of Box of Rain to leaves us into that sweet and warm late spring night, along with the towering reeds of the Meadowlands and the bustle of the Turnpike in the back ground.
Happy trails!
