A nice audience recording of a pretty solid show from start to finish. No genuine fireworks here by the Dead's standards - this was pretty late in the game when their genius showed itself sporadically. The highlight for me is a powerful Stella Blue. It ranks up there with the more famous, super emotional version from Auburn Hills, 8/1/94. The passion, insight and fortitude are just pouring out of Garcia. Good Cold Rain opener, Tom Thumb's too. Can't rave a whole lot about the performance but the boys were, as always, giving it their all and there is always something tasty in that. I have to say something about the weather, having driven in for these shows and suffered through the previous night's cancellation. It's a true miracle that we didn't lose anybody (that I know of) to that storm - it was a beast! Nasty cold, biting wind, snow drifts like sand dunes. Imagine a zillion Touch Heads showing up for that! Lots of sharing and caring got us through, no doubt. Thanks to the taper for capturing this experience and thanks to the GD for keeping it real for so long.

...finally found it...when I got into tape trading, this was one of the first tapes I ever received. I fell in love with it and I know this is the exact source I had as it has the exact same hoots and hollars from someone (drunk?) very close to the taper yelling when he hears Samson and then again calling out Scarlet (he was wrong though) right before Way To Go Home. My copy also had Phil's bass WAY to high in the mix (enough to ruin speakers), but sounded AWESOME in it's own right, especially if you are a big Phil fan.....I kind of miss not having Phil a little higher in this "remastered" source

This was my 3rd show that i got in and fourth overall. We slept on the 7th hole of the mini-golf course in the Holladome . It snowed the whole time we were there. Had a great time in the Holiday Holladome, melting into the ever moving waves of the golf course. Watching the trees lean over and eat people whole. The band that played at the bar was fun .
Experienced a really interesting meal at the diner across the street. A fella came in all naked and ranting on reminding himself where he was exactly while counting to oblivion." 2134 I'm in a diner, 2135 the dead are playing tomorrow, 2136 im still in a diner, 2137, hey everybody, 2138 oh shit, did I skip 2137?, fuck it 2139 im still in a diner but the dead are playin tomorrow wooo hoooo"! After rambling for a few more minutes and walking across he counter he then decided to sprint and hurdle out the diner into the blizzard the whole time keeping his count. The next time we saw him he was being tackled into a snow bank by the paramedics. He was all good, they just wanted him to get out of the cold and put some clothes on. The show was amazing ! Sorry, I dont really remember anything other then the Brown Eyed Women the cold rain n snow and terrapin station. all of which were bad ass. the acoustics were a lil off (muffled) but after dealing with the weather we were just happy ta cut a rug.

Never got in:( also, it was either the night before or after that was snowed out. The local Buzzard radio station played this show as it played live so we could all be a part:)
