1970 is just that year where the AUDS are judged on a different scale. You let more slide. I've only listened to this to see what they sounded like after probably not having gone to bed yet from the Fillmore marathon, and possibly not much sleep since St Louis. Maybe a travel nap while jumping ahead into the Eastern time zone. And Deadbase lists another college gig on the 17th. Jesus man. Sounds like Cutler definitely wasn't in the mood (always great when a moment like that happens during a song like that), but the band digs deep and manages to be professional. I'd say this show was considered "mailing it in" for a college gig in 1970, which means I'm sure it was a fantastic and memorable event that everyone who attended never forgot. Worth a one time listen for the sincerely devoted.

sounds like the taper was close to the stage as the 'presence' on the instrumentation is good, ie directly from the stage amps and the vocals are low as he was close to the stage, amps etc but didnt capture as much of the PA which would also account for being caught by sam cutler. too bad...

GD manager ruined what could have been a pretty decent recording.
