Night Hendrix Died
I was at this show of Sept 18 1970,was the night Jimi Hendrix died,I also had a ticket for the next night but could not make it & gave my tickets to friends who from what I've read by many including David Gans that this night may have been the best Dark Star recorded. For me there was nothing like seeing the Dead at the Fillmore East

The night I was born
What more can you say about a 1970 Dead show ? It must have been wild to be there :) What a setlist to arrive in the world to ~ I would give anything for a quality, cleaned up version of this amazing spectacular show ! Write me:

I liked telling people I exchanged souls with Jimi, as he died the same night I was born. Up the street, LZ were playing at MSG this night too.

teasing and weaving, teasing and weaving. this is a fun show to listen to without seeing the setlist first! exciting to hear all those teases in there, and then listen to them spin it into something else, then flesh out that tease later on. darks stars and st stephens abound. flows beautifully. great upload!

Hendrix died this day...
1st Dead show. Jerry with New Riders, Dustin Hoffman on stage during intermission filming Harry Kellerman. Dead came on at Midnight, went to almost
6:00 am.
Torrential rains that night.
Whispers that Jimi died.
Joshua/Pig/Joe Light Show - Tim Leary in seat R102 - hours later - Mayor Lindsay in seat R103. H.A. was out in force that night, glad I was inside. Tom lost his ticket and had to endure. Talk about a life altering experience - this show was it.

Sugar Mag not from 9-18-70
This weak-sister Sugar Mag is not the smokin' one from 9-18-70. Check out the versions on the other downloads from 918... which unfortunately, don't sound as good.. This was my first Dead show.
Stars are for the 9-18 performance, not for the extra bits on this download.

Dark Star is not from this 9/18/70 show. Make sure to check out the AUD source for NRPS set and rest of Dead set. Sound quality isn't that great, but the playing and song selection is awesome.
