Subject: reAl speed
I have had this show on tape for years. I always suspected it might be a little slow, but now hearing this I am of the suspicion that the boys just had some really good candy that night, and were just having a great time. THAT much is evident. As for the speed of the playback, I LOVE it slow. Slow, funky and probably my favorite all-time show. Every song is right-on and so dynamic; if the term "funk" could ever be applied to the boys, it does so here more than anywhere. To me, THIS is the Dead at their peak. (Weaned as I was on bootlegs, the sound quality doesn't bother me - all I hear is a ROCKIN' show!)

Subject: Easy Wind
This is one of my favorite Easy Winds. Just fantastic - Bobby is ON during the jam and you can really hear him well. It does sound a tad slow.

70 is one of my favorite years and this is one of MANY fantastic shows.

Subject: Great show! classic 1970 stuff
Getting all those sounds from Workingmans Dead and American Beauty only happened for a short window. Darn near a 5 * show!
I believe the sould issues are, to my ear, some of the songs are dragging a little slow, the opposite of the '66 Chipmunk sound phenomenon. I sped up Cold Rain and Snow, Easy Wind, Minglewood, BIODTL, Casey Jones and it made a world of difference. 1.033 to 1.108 is all I pushed them up. Maybe I am just personal meddling with the art, but I liked how they sounded. Candyman Morning Dew and Chinacat might also benefit from the speed up. Of course by 1978, all the songs were slowed down...

I wish they had played this tune alot more, this is my favorite recording of this rarity.
I've had it a dogs age...

It would've made a cool set opener for a decade, IMHO.

Play it loud.

Subject: Hey?
I know the band was never impressed with their Till' the Morning Comes, but it's worth saying it's alright considering it was done( in essence )only a hand full of times.

And electric Friend of the Devil.

I put a 5 because of Big Railroad Blues.

Subject: Good Show
Some of the songs start out a bit clunky but pay off with real vocal ferocity and payoff jams. Amazing "Easy Wind", starts out stumblin' a bit but kicks down some sweet harmonica and a mind' bogglin guitar trip.

Notes

Patch Info: SBD -> Master Reel -> ? -> Dat -> SHN

The following songs have patches in them:
Easy Wind, Till The Morning Comes, Truckin', Black Peter, Morning Dew and China->Rider. This patch is better than the patch that was on my CD's, which is why I re-did it.
