Subject: Great ending jam, otherwise not great
The only thing preventing me from calling this show "overrated" is that the ending jam from Truckin' through Sugar Mag is excellent. I will say this show is definitely energetic, but musically most of it is awkward & directionless & not all that good. Furthermore Donna Jean is at her screechiest. I love '73 shows, but not this one. If you're looking to hear good music, stream the soundboard version of the ending jam. But the whole show is no good for a download to listen to on a long car trip, despite the excellent sound quality.

Subject: Sweet '73
Nothing better that a '73 from ol' Jerry Moore. Highlights of the show, naturally, are the jams. Best bets: Bird Song, Playin', HCSS, Let it Grow, and then, of course, the pinnacle is the entire segment from Truckin' through to Eyes. Fantastic!

Subject: one of my favorites
definitely a 5 star show. how about the "they love each other" every song is executed with perfection.

Subject: good quality aud with blemishes
i have to say that this is a decent quality aud. it's slow to start. that's either a factor of the band tuning the sound system in, or the taper getting dialed, or both. i'm guessing the latter. by row jimmy, the sound is fabulous despite the lunk heads who call for "me and my uncle" over and over. (they're the reason i used to move around so much at shows -- trying to find a good "zone").

a bird song fan, i was tantalized by the previous review. however, jerry's equipment problems (bob's been making some sly, cryptic equipment remarks all along) fuzz out and dump static where he should be sublimely lifting off. if you're in search of the sublime bird song aud, check out 6-22-73. other than that, it's hard to compete with 8-27-72.

for reason of equipment problems, thus far, i can't go above four stars, and that's feeling generous. this is more like a 3.5. here comes sunshine is good, but there are others that meet and exceed this version. definitely worth a listen, though, especially the 2nd sent jam. the first let it grow is a novelty yet it even has a little fan action and an energetic jam. they've just "spent a month in the studio" indeed.

Subject: great aud- under reviewed show that should be heard
hard to believe this is an aud with the instrument separations being near perfect- birdsong is outstanding- top ten in my book- give it a listen- you will be surprised and you will download it for sure

Subject: This one is the bomb
Really... if you haven't heard 9/7/73 you have been missing one of the great shows of 73. My personal favorite of all shows. Really. There was never a more powerful Here Comes Sunshine than this one, believe me, I've searched. And the Eyes is powerful too. A great audience recording of the boys at their absolute best.

Subject: Now that we can only download audience recordings,
I have started checking out a lot more obscure audience recordings ,and I have been very happy with a lot of shows I would've passed up when the SBD's were up for us.This show is real nice and I think that it captures the essence of the show better than the board.I really like '73 and to me the second half of '73 they were on fireSBD's from this era ,IMO The drums are almost always too loud in the mix and Jerry's too low.A few other AUD's I would recommend is 7/1/73,5/8/77,12/30/78,,1/10-11/79,
1/15/79,2/3/79,9/6/80,,12/13/80,3/24/90.I could go on ,because there is an endless well of great AUD's out there and on here. When I first started trading tapes it was 25 years ago and you had to go out there and find 'em yourself ,and then you had to tape each show in real time. There was no click a link and 'bam you got 20 shows in one day.It was take what you can get that was decent quality. An AUD that has not been thru tape generations has great potential to be very nice,so dont be upset that we can't get SBD's here anymore, cause if you want 'em they are out there.I really love this site and love induldging myself with ease ,but it used to be ritualistic trading tapes, and since there was so much work getting them ,you really cherished your collection. If you lost one ,you may never get it again ,or so it seemed until the past few years.I give this show 5 stars even tho the quality is not the best .It has a good vibe and is very listenable.
