Just listened to the other AUD, only pieces from this one...in most ways, this sounds superior, but they're both good. Awesome show!

Pretty good AUD of this nice 77 show. Donna G is mercifully subdued and sounds great. Now that the SBD has been withheld, it does just fine. All the shows in this legendary tour all sounds great, but they all sound very much the same, there are no surprises.

No need to critique the show. It's May... But, when there's distance to a setup, you never know what your gonna get - fidelity wise. Sometimes you get lucky and the sound bounces in just right. Most of the time it's only marginal. Unfortunately, this recording is the later. It's only average at best for an AUD. Maybe it might be considered above average for the mid '70s, since audience recording in that decade was still sporatic, with stealth being manditory.
Well well, I just read Jerry's field notes and three of the four opening tunes are from an alternate Senn source. That explains the muddy sound in the beginning. Jerry's is much better now that we're in the midst of the 1st set. Too bad he had trouble with his mic stand and missed the opening songs. If those opening songs had been intact on Jerry's setup, I'd be giving this show five stars for sound and performance. But since this recording has some flaws, it will have to be 4 1/2 stars.

As I have been browsing alot of the 1977 shows, This one stands out. After the momumental May 8th and May 9th shows, The boys are still riding the wave. Do not overlook this show. The quality of the sound is as good if not better than ANY any 5 star audience taped show in that era. Crispy and awesome playin'

Smokin Show. Full of energy and well played too. Samson & Deliliah were very hoppin. Donna's voice is at just the right level and she sounds like she's right in touch with the band.
Very nice recording of this show - I just listened to the MP3s of this and the SBD and I like this one better. Now to pull down the SHN
Years later (in the early 90s) when working for Ice Capades I was in the Hartford Civic Ctr and saw stickers & graffiti backstage from the various times the boys played there. I immediately thought of the tapes I had of this show. It turns out that we arrived in town 3 hours too late to see JGB for free (we would have been able to get backstage too since we were loading in the next morning). That was a bummer but this recording is definitely NOT
