My First Dead Show
Great little theater. Lots of rookie confusion for me but I do remember the Terrapin being decidedly purple.

Don't miss set 1 in the commotion over set 2
This is a wonderful show- known primarily for the scarlet fire being a hidden track on a DP (13?)- but I just listened to a chunk of set 1 AGAIN AND IT SMOKES- Check out the Jed- one of the better ones for sure- and ALthea soesn't suck either. Very good sound- well mixed- well worth the down...oops forgot.

Alabama
Best AG of alltime? Nice very tight opening 8 minute version that Phil takes a few breaks during. The Stanley was an awesome place and one of the better venues to see the Dead from my perspective. This recording has a little static in it, but is still overall very nice.

a special mix
One of my favorite mixes and recordings. It's truly unique in the best of ways. Brent is out front, and it gives a great view into how passionate he was and how much offered at the table. You can almost see him swaying back and forth and going into his trance. He's a bona fide Dr.Energy. Phil's bass sound is special as well. Suffice to say...great instrument separation and a crisp recording. Great sets of songs, too. One of those shows it's as easy as the wind to play start to finish.
This is why I missed Brent so much.

Hard to Beat
This show and the next night are really great concerts. A good set of songs very well played by all. Excellent sounding recording. You can hear Phil's bass loud and clear unlike many other recordings - the drums are well recorded - both guitars are clear - Brent does a great job on keyboards - Jerry is still in good voice - powerful performances of old classics and relativley new (at the time) songs. Can't go wrong with this one - a mistake if you pass it by!
