Subject: vg in gen
VG recording, and some very snappy energy. They seem to get a litlle bit TOO sloppy in the middle of the 1st half of set 2, but all else is quite well-done.

Subject: WTF?!
This is what I like to call snappy Dead. They snap like ladyfingers throughout. Good stuff. They must have had a good connect' back then, 'cause they were fired up this entire tour. I'm sure good times were had by all. Doubt this is an aud though.....sounds nice though!

Subject: Beginning of one of the most incredible western summers
You pretty much need to have everything from 8/20 to 9/24. They are really tapped into something special in this period of shows stretching across much of the western US. Setlists are sensible yet solid and the playing is mindbending.

Subject: Great Sound Fun Show!!!
This is a great sounding show (on my work box).
I am loving 1983 WOW what a great year....

Subject: Where's the Drums???
I can't believe the Drums are cut. M&B were RAGING. Who are these people who didn't record the drums???

Great Eyes and Other One in this show.

Reviewer: Steinbergerman - [4.0 out of 5 stars] - July 7, 2004
Subject: out of control
My favorite shows are the ones where the band is out of control. This is a great example of that phenomenon. The first set particularly sounds like the entire band is lit up on some mysterious substance. Bird Song turns into a heavy metal romp in the jam, complete with Jerry power chords! The entire show crackles with good ole acid test energy.
