Pass on this SBD
... and give the Oade Aud or the bzlrbi SBD a listen. Solid show which is best captured by the aforementioned sources. Ripping opener Alabama - > JS, nice She Belongs to Me & He's Gone. GDTRFB is awesome (bet you never heard it called that on tour either huh?!).

Everything is relative
Normally I ignore people who write reviews that lash out at others. But the review below where the person gave criterion on what a reviewer needs to post a comment is built on plain arrogance and is also hypocritical. Shows '83-86 were NOT pre "In the Dark" shows. The album may have been released in '87, but the dead were playing "bucket", "touch" "Esau" "west
l.a. fade" "throwin stones" since '82. And they played them a lot. Second, I have friends who consider the years after K. Godchaux left as the "good old days." And the Pigpen years are the ONLY years for some dead heads.
Stick to critiques or the experience you had and leave the negativity to others.

what a joke
where do you kids come up with these gay nicknames? "Getaway > Straw"? I saw 92 shows, 90% from '83-'86, and trust me, I never once on tour heard soemone call those songs by that name. Can we please start qualifying ourseleves oin teh reviews like I do? Plkease let us know if you a) actually saw the Dead, b) toured, and c) actually saew them before the whole Touch of Grey / In the Dark era that wrecked the whole scne in 1987 leading to all the horrendous scenes at concerts that are more befoitting a Bon Jovi crowd than the Grateful Dead, liek Deer Creek and all that nonsense in the '90's. Glad I wasnlt there! Anyway - folks, please - start qualifying your reviews so we can take them in the proper context. Why stream a show based on input from a 30 year-old who has no idea what the Dead are or sounded like? Or from someone who has no idea how cool the scnee was pre-1987?
I was not at this show, saw Hampton, Portland, and Philly. The sbd of this show is hideous, zero high end, it sounds like a 34th gen I got in a hotel room in Worcester on the fall tour. Get the oade aud.

Sound quality
Yeah, I have to agree that the sound quality is pretty bad... This is one instance where the available AUD is preferable to the SBD...

what!
Unfortunatley I did take the first reviewers advice. The sound quality is horrible! This is not a five star show!

Album Covers
Thanks for the link to the album covers. Good stuff!!
And this show is fuckin sick!! Despite JG's froggy throat...the bands playing throughout this show, and all of '85 for that matter is just outstanding. Garcia lays riffs during this show, for instance during Jack straw that ive never heard him rip before. Every tune this night is hot!!
Fuckin download this show...you will not regret it! I promise!

killer first set
Hard hitting rock and roll with Jerry on top of his game.First set is as good as it gets and set two is above average.Getaway>Straw was a brilliant energy packed opener.I like the quick paced first ever version of She Belongs To Me, even though Jerry flubs the lyrics. .Sailor>Saint>Deal to end the first set is off the hook.Jerry delivers pure rock and roll mayhem.

N/A
This is a really great show, particularly the 1st set. It's too bad that this recording doesn't sound as good as most of the sbds from '85.
