Lost Sailor
I had decent cassette SB copies of a lot of the 85 shows and this was the one I wore out. Lost Sailor/St is outstanding as is She Belongs to Me. I just stumbled upon the Fox 10/29/85 Lost Sailor/St and it reminded me of this show. If you're out there Bubbles, thanks for the tape!

Puzzled About SBD Recordings
I have been a fan for many years, but only discovered these recordings about a year ago. Some (like this) are really fantastic and I want to thank all involved for making them available. However, one thing I don't understand is why all the shows are broken down into individual songs, with an unnatural break between them, rather than letting them "flow" into each as they were originally played?

She Belongs to Me
Maybe the best version I ever heard and it still sounds good on this HI Q mix.

Can't get enough
Listening to this 2nd set for, oh I don't know, probably the 300th time. By and far the best sounding SBD I have ... had it on tape years ago and it sounded good on that. No matter what year (even the `77 shows), I keep coming back to this show. God I wish I was there. Thank you to all who are involved in sharing this.

This Must Be Heaven
I sure miss the Greek Theater shows. Nothing like being outdoors shakin' your bones in the pit and rocking out while Jerry would peek at you over his glasses.
This may be an upgrade in sound over the other SB, depending on your preferance- a great set though, easily four skulls.
Another reviewer asked for an '85 show with equal quality or better and I think the 4/28 Frost show comes close but River Bend on 6/24 is equal in my book:

The notes ask that if you grab this show to please make a donation to KPFA, the bay area radio station that features David Gans' deadhead hour and also broadcasted many NYE shows.

Question?
Gans said he spent "4 hours" taking the "bass farts out of this set." I think it's ruined the power of t stones for example. Those earth shattering eruptions from Phil are neutered here and the power of one of the great versions of this song has been significantly diminished. I compared it to an old National Gans show version and the difference is heartbreaking. Why David? Why?

Pristine sound quality! Get this now!
I am VERY picky about sound quality; I figure that there are enough good Dead shows out there not to have to listen to a show that is hissy, uneven,or weirdly mixed. And believe me, many "5-star" rated shows, with supposedly "excellent" sound fall into this category.
I say this to let you know that you MUST download this Set 2 NOW, if you are a fan of 1985 Dead! This is by far the best sounding 1985 show I have heard, surpassing Dick's picks 21. The mix is absolutely perfect, in addition to being a great set of music. My question is, where are the other '85 shows that sound this good?!
Anyway, please stop reading, and download this now! If this isn't the best sounding '85 show you have ever heard, please let me know because I want to get that show!
