Classic show - my first show. Woman are Smarter for second set opener was cool! Great show this was my first.
Funny how long ago , the strange trip -good sound good night. They stopped doing the Lost Sailor •Saint of Circumstance combo soon after. Bob in a pink Alligator T-Shirt ( classic) . The encore - Jerry Garcia " Hello - sounded good didn't it . We all started playin .... Blah blah blah . "The Throwin Stones • Turn on Your Lovelight is great. The Terrapin Station is fabulous as is the whole first set. Woman are Smarter ( ManSmart Woman are Smarter) second set opener is a treat.Crazy Fingers!!!!! Set 1

I always thought it was, "Yunz", as in, Yunz guys goin' donton ta' buy a pond a grond rond? Yea, I spent some time in the Dirty O and the Decade, not to mention Tom and Tud's in Aspinwall, etc.. I got mixed up with a chick from O'Hara township in the 70's. I liked the shows at The Stanley better than these at the Civic Aroma. Too many weird cops with a hard on for West Coast kids. Like me. It's still a Summer of '85 show and worth the dl.

Growing up north of Philly, I was raised to hate Pittsburgh (it's a baseball thing). This was my first trip to Pittsburgh and I knew instantly that everything I had heard about Pittsburgh was bunk. Pittsburgh is a GREAT city and I think I saw every Pittsburgh GD show after this. I love Pittsburgh to this day. But "y'ins" is not a word, sorry.
The Jack Straw > Roses was a great opener. Cassidy, RRB, and Promised Land was a great way to close it. Before the show, I was talking to someone who had been to the two previous shows at MPP. I told him I heard MPP was off the hook and his reply was, "Yeah, but they didn't play Help on the Way. Tonight is the last night of the tour and I guarantee we'll get the Help".
Unfortunately, I believed him. When the 2nd set started with, of all things, Women R Smarter, I was disappointed. I really wanted the Help too. That disaapointment was short lived. My first Crazy Fingers followed by a Sailor Saint Terrapin. WOW! Post drums was standard fare until the encore. I thought Revoloution was great. It wasn't, but it sure was to my ears on this night! After it was over, what was Jerry doing? The rest of the band was looking to dismount, but Jerry was diddling away. Next thing you know, "Gonna leave this brokedown Palace. Hello. Sounded good didn't it?"... and they bang out a very impromptu Brokedown Palace. For me, it's the only way to catch Brokedown, as a freebie.

The 2nd set is vastly inferior to the first set. Big disappointment. Great performance though.
3 stars thanks to the dip in quality.
