Spoonful>Good Times
Weir has a nice delivery on Spoonful
that and Smokestack Lightning
that is a pretty serious blues 2 shot.
All of those pre-drumz Brent tunes
did pay dividends by 89/90 for Mydland.
Back in the day
I was blown kinda away
when Garcia would exit stage left
on a Brent tune pre drums
but thinking on it now
Garcia was giving Brent a chance to shine
Not sure why there is so much reverb on Brent's vocals on this tune.

Brent sneaks another one in...there is a real preponderance in 1985 of misbegotten Brent tunes in that twilight zone between the first half of the second set and drums. Feels like everybody's just kinda going their own way...

Are you kidding me? The mississippi halfstep, the minglewood, the stagger lee, the friend of devil, the big railroad, the looks like rain, this is one of the best first sets I've ever heard.

my first show
well, everybody has a first show, and this was mine (#1 of 99). shrooms, alcohol, bud, etc and I didn't know any dead tunes. "it's all over now" and "NFA" were the only songs i heard before.
first set was clean, crisp and lively...
china rider>samson>hes gone>spoonful>good times was awesome before drums. was ready to rock out during the encore but jerry lullabied us with "baby blue", kept me wanting more....
98 more to be exact!

Solid '85
First set was rock solid. 2nd saw a bit of an energy dip. BUT, Never Trust/Good Times is the best I have ever heard. And frankly, so is the Throwing Stones/NFA combo!

Jerry hangs in for Spoonful
Though this show didn't top yesterday, the first set was extremely rocking and there were no low points in the first set.
He's Gone was cool but Jerry's guitar was halfway off when Bobby started Spoonful, Jerry hung in there and faced his amp for the whole song and played little. He left for drums just as the song ended but Brent hung around to give us another tune before drums. Not too much happend afer drums
