major highlight from '86
i know that this is '86, but this is a strong show. the crazy fingers is sweet with full bass, the he's gone->smokestack is slinky and unique sounding to this year.
the drumz is what got me "turned on" to drumz in a big way. in '87, this righteous collector from oaklahoma mailed my sister a copy. i couldn't get enough of the intricate rhythms and mickey's beam. it's truly sublime.
at the time, it was the crispest board that i had. now, i'm spoiled with that good sound. this one is excellent but still doesn't have the warmth and clarity of the copy from oakie-aiko (and that's on a D-90 from '87!). there are definitely MANY cassette generations here. either that or there were some patch problems as there is a strong hiss.
the post-drums is hot. though the other one has the quiet intro, when phil kicks in, he kicks right in! an '85 or '86 comes a time is always welcome, though little can compare to 11-1-85.
mmmm-bop, bop-bop.
