i had good seats for all three nites thanx to mail order tix when the speakers exploded well it sounded like a M100 IN MY state of liqifryed mind all three nites smoked

Subject: 3-29-91 10th Row Center Floor Seat

This was the closest I ever got with a reserved seat, and it was a totally different experience from all previous shows, being under the stage lights was like being in a virtual living room with the band. All the band members were smiling, and everyone seemed to be in a good mood, and the band played well, but the technical difficulties due to the rain water leaking in put a damper on things. Listen to the crowd roar when Vince hits his first few notes of Stranger. This was a new-sounding Dead. This SBD is marred by the short-circuiting during the 1st set.

Subject: my first Dead show

This was my first Dead show. We drove from Toronto and did not sleep in NY so it was lots of driving. I was 18 and at the time I was so into the '70's shows that this sounded like a different band. I remember being more fascinated by the scene that I had only witnessed in books more than anything else. My friend who is 10 years my senior and a veteran head at the time fell asleep during second set out of 'boredom'. I'm going to give a listen to see what really happend.

SBDS . . . ugh. I would love to see a nice FOB of this show posted. This one suffers from way too much Wince in the right channel. The Sugaree is the standout of this show, IMO. I remember hitting the floor when the right PA tower shorted out during Masterpiece. A classic "WTF?" momnet.

what a great sounding recording. I remember listening to this on "tape" in college all the time. This sounds better than the version I had then. The Sugaree is great.

PA problems forced the end of the first set after Masterpiece. No Hornsby this run.

Very good sound (5 stars), 3 star performance, second set is not that well played IMHO.

Subject: decent night

My 50th show and I had floor seets at the coliseum. Excellent first set marred by an unexplained PA outage. You can't hear it on the download but during Masterpiece the sound went out, then came back on, completely. It is then you realize how loud they are, like being in an airplane engine. They shortenend the set, I felt a little gipped out of a Bird Song, although my friend says the would have finished with the New Speedway they played in II. Over all a good show, the NSB>Truckin' was nice. Indicative of the tour, not great, didn't suck. 3.5 stars....go to 4 because the sound on the board is pretty good.
