Subject: Awesome summer '91 show
Subject: Awesome summer '91 show
This is my first review - this place rules.
At any rate, I made this tape. The equipment was:
AKGC460b w/ck61 > Mike Grace's first ever preamp > Casio DA7. Mics ORTF, handheld.
First set I was left of center (center is an aisle) by about 5 seats. About 17th row. It was very hairy FOB, everyone got busted. I eluded capture, but was shut down for CC Rider through Big River. The patch for those songs is from Ed Boardman's setup on the lawn, Schoeps hypercardioids>custom power supply>SV255.
Set 2 was from right of center, same row.
The whole show smokes. Great example of summer '91. The sound is great - I think my best tape. I can't comment on the SBD, b/c I haven't listened to it and really dislike SBD tapes - I'm a taper. But it's an outdoor show and there is deep bass, full sound, some infrequent up-close clapping and crowd noise, as is common in post taper's section FOB tapes. Not bad on this one, though.
I did the next night, it came out better. I have it on DAT - anybody care to convert it and upload it? Also have the Pine Knobs....
