I had been gone from Cleveland for 10 years when this show happened (and still am), but always like to hear the great shows from my hometown. I was too young to enjoy the legendary shows in the early 1970's, but saw my first at Public Hall in 1980 and second at Music Hall in 1981. On the bus ever since - 150+ shows! This jams very nicely, GROOVING HARD right now to the Scarlet>Fire. On a side note, saw many great shows at the Cleveland (Richfield) Coliseum: Springsteen, Bowie, Zappa, Yes, Jethro Tull, etc.

Although I can't listen to it all the time, I can really enjoy the big full sound the band had with Hornsby on piano. The issue with 91 for me seems to be whether or not Jerry was interested or engaged. Sure sounds like on this night - Jack Straw, Tennessee Jed, Cold Rain, Promised Land, Scarlet/Fire all have strong work from the Captain.
I was unaware of this show before clicking on the day in history link, and it was great fun. Thanks to the tapers and archivers.

This show is sick! Good Times is real nice, Jack Straw is amazing! Bobby is turned WAY up, and I love it, you can hear how precise the dude is, all the while Jerry is totally shredding. Black Throated, bitchin. Cold Rain > Promised Land?!? A 10 song 1st set? When did they do that in the 90's? It's huge, they were pumped! Not to mention the Scarlet>Fire>Estimated> He's Gone. Given it's the 1st show of fall tour, about 13 months after Brent died, that "nothin left to do but smile smile smile" lyric is inspired! China Doll, The Wheel, The Weight. This show is hot as shit.

One of my favorites from 1991. I can still remember how my skin crawled during that "Scarlet>Fire" listen to Jerry going on that! What a 1st set, 10 tunes and full of 1st night of the tour energy. You gotta love this one for late era Dead. I have at least 3 versions of this show, including the FM/SBD and I like this one a lot. Thanks Charlie!

This is a great show with lots of energy.
Outstanding sound quality. Clear bass and high-end, wide dynamic range, "up-front" sound, and without any chatter that I've noticed. There is no way the sbd sounds better than this.
1000 thank yous to Dan O'neil for making such a great tape, and with Charlie Miller at the controls on the transfer, you can't go wrong. Thanks guys.
