The scene of the Crime
Let me first say that I always loved seeing shows at the Knick. For whatever reason I felt that old Jerry really like playing not only in NY but there in particular. Some of my best and worst memories happened here. I went to a JGB show here in 90 or 91 and Jerry's guitar broke and he busted out The Big Bad Wolf. It was amazing and I think he played it during Shinning Star. Jerry made some little comment like "sorry for the interruption folks were having technical difficulties" Something like that that I wish I could remember since we all know how rare it was to here Jerry say anything. Anyway that was one of the good memeries from here.
Now on to this show. I loved the first set. Bertha always got us going and beautiful version of Row Jimmy, Dire, Loose Lucy (one of my personal favorites) and to end with Music, kept our mouths watering for what they would open up the second set with. Right about the first verse of Follish Heart, I thought it would be a good idea to smoke something that I thought was just plain old herb. Well come to find out later (after a blood test in the EMT station downstairs) it was laced with a substance I'd rater not mention here. But it was pretty hardcore and my body did not like it. Right about at the start of Playin I grabed my friend who insisted for me to "just chill bro, just chill and listen to Jerry" Well after I about ripped his arm off and screamed "TAKE ME TO THE EMT'S NOW....IM GOING TO DIE" that got his attention. That and the fact that I was as white as this screen. I remember looking at the heart moniter and my heartrate was over 200 beats a minute. The doctor said that if it didnt slow down they were going to have to transport me to the hospital and call my parents. Holy shit, I was 18 had just graduated High School but my old man would have killed me dead right there on the spot. Thankfully after an IV and whatever else they gave me to flush my system and calm me down I started gettting better but I missed the whole second set and was completely out of it for the rest of the week. I remeber waking up the next morning feeling like a Mack Truck had run over my chest. My ribs and heart actually were sore from the workout the night before. I didnt get back into the show the next night until Scarlet/Fire opened the second set. So all and all not a very good weekend for me but from what I remember about this show it was good as well as the next night. I dont think I have ever felt the feeling that I was going to die like that since and I dont ever want to again. I honest to goodness thought I was going to die. So for the mear fact that I made it out alive I give this one 5 stars!!!!

Great 1st set. One of the last Great Knickerbocker shows. I loved this place!! Second set is a little lacking in length and pretty average in terms of stock song choice, but still well played.
Oh yeah and the Foolish Heart is heavenly!
