In the heat of the sun a man died of cold
I saw a lot of shows in 92' but was not a big fan of Vince..but still kept on going.. After 92' the seen became DARK and I don't even listen to anything past this year. I would have to say that over 30 shows attended in 92' this was my favorite..Deer Creek was in my top 10 in places to see the band. Sound quality is good and love both sets of this show.Come on..A Help>Slip>Franklin to start the show..with a sweet To lay me down and Speedway>Smokestack ..this 1st set was very enjoyable.. A solid 2nd set to follow with the ever so elusive Casey Jones as an encore..The last one I had caught was in Merriwaether in 84'..so yes GIVE IT A WHIRL

Yes, a nice opener...
...but why has no one mentioned the definitely impressive second half of the first set?
Take a look: Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, To Lay Me Down > El Paso, New Speedway Boogie > Smokestack Lightning
Darn intriguing on paper, and on par with any other piece of this fun show (I was there). Yes sound on the hill at Deer Creek could definitely be muddy, but the GD certainly enjoyed playing there. I'd say that '91 was definitely better though.

92 summer highlight
Was at every show on east coast and this one is the best not by much, like nickerbocker too .Let me say this was the last lay me down i would witness and i agree that the estimated is better then cornell. I love the entire tour ssssssssoooo much fun all the way thank you Grateful Dead for all the fond memmories, this being one of them. The sun was going down as lay me down was being played and you're right i never seen a bad show @ the creek. 93 is awesome too.

Bobby rips up "Help"
This has to be one of the best Help>slip>Franklin's I have had the pleasure to witness. Bobby nails the rythym. SOund quality is great.

1992 GEM
excellent sound quality and playing by the boys. jerry mumbles from time to time but phil drops harmonious bombs throughout the show and you can actually hear and feel them on this dsb. I was a little dissappointed with the china doll (1st one), I expected more I guess but overall this shows kicks ass. i was lucky to get a ticket about five minutes before the show started from a firefighter who saw my dad's fire department shirt on my buddy and his finger in the air. I also scored a picture from some dude in da lot of me second row at a richfield show--Kind

Great Sound
This is a great sounding recording--5 stars for that. In fact, hearing it this clean revises my opinion of a show that I didn't recall very favorably. From the hill, the whole thing sounded muddy, and a bit off. Here, the band is dead on (no pun intended), though Jerry's voice is pretty rough. The "Help>Slip>Franklin" is great, "Rider" rocks. This is the first time I've been able to actually hear "Casey Jones", because the crowd went so apesh*t when they started playing it, it nearly drowned out the live performance. 5 stars for the sound, 3 stars for the overall performance.
