Subject: Not Their Finest.......
This was the last Dead show I ever saw and not the way I wanted to remember them. Memories of this show included one almighty traffic jam (up there with Oxford Plains 1988) and the fact that I had a couple of spare tickets which at first I could not dispose of at face value nor later could I even GIVE them away. No problems with miracles at that show. I had stopped attendng shows in late '91 when I moved to Europe. This was a chance to see if I had been missing anything. A 4 hour traffic jam, a high percentage of very wasted (in a bad way)people in the crowd coupled with the Dead seemingly asleep onstage convinced me it was not much fun any more.
The music was fairly uninspiring, Bobby and Jerry flubbed lines, Corrina was just a terrible song and I baled before the encore, something I had never done before. I heard them playing US Blues as we drove out and it was the last thing I ever heard Jerry sing.

Man after 6 years of the band pleading with people to not come to their shows w/o tix this really pushed it over the edge. For all of you who came w/o tix and forced them to open the gates, YOU SUCK!!! The drama surrounding the scene at this show really shows in the lame performance the boys put on. I have to agree with other reviews where they say the band was looking to get out of this show and town. This was a prime example of why the Dead called this the "Tour From Hell". Thanks again to those dumbasses who came for the party and not the show. You ruined the scene.

Hard to classify this one. On the one hand, decent setlist and some good jams/chemistry. On the other hand, numerous musical and vocal miscues. I have to agree with one of the reviewers that the energy was very low and GD looked disinterested. I remember sitting down and having a cigarette during US snooze, regretting not leaving earlier. However, also agree with reviewer who mentions standing on the moon. Jerry definitely had a big connection with this song during the early 90's as the View from the Vaults and this show demonstrate.

I recall my brother coming back from summer ttour '94, raving about the Highgate Let it Grow. There's other highlights as well, but check it out.
Sound quality is mediocre, though listenable.

Everyone who stayed for the whole show had a great time. Jerry sounded like he wanted to stay around, Standing on the Moon is still a favorite from this show. Track listings here are screwed up, prepare to have to rename or tag files.
