"[The PMB mics] were made by a now defunct German company, about 15 years ago. The mic's are self powered (AA batt in each), the 2 sets of capsules that I have are the shotguns (about 12" length) and the small capsules which have a figure-8 pick-up pattern. Balanced output at the mic. They were owned by a speaker designer from England. Before working w/ Home audio, he worked w/ pro sound. He did lots of recording @ small to large venues in the UK. He recorded for broadcasts. He stuck w/ these mic.s through the end of his recording days."

My Birthday Show
I was born in Maryland on October 1st, 1994.
I don't hold much superstition about things, although I am conditioned toward fate. There is little my parents could have done to prepare me for a life on this Earth. I have learned plenty from these past 27 years spent as a human Being. Can you imagine the life Jerry Garcia lived? As he shared his gift with the world - with people as happy as ever just to hear him play.
On this my birthday, I feel so grateful to be alive. I feel grateful to be able to know right from wrong. I am grateful to share my life (and the gifts God has given to me) with my family and friends and people of this world. I am grateful for every single person who had the foresight to record these shows, from 1966-95. That is a lot of time spent on this Earth. I am grateful to be alive, and know peace lives with me.

SO MANY ROADS!!!
I feel like people don't dig So Many Roads as they should. I personally appreciate it for the song writing aspect and how it became such a dramatic tune as Jerry was going out.

Bonus
Love how Jerry adds some extra So Many Roads belts when he could have just mailed it in. Plus, you can hear his voice crack. Nice.

Set list correction for Boston Garden 10-1-94
This is a sweet set list, and for me, too good to be true. The St. Stephen listed here is actually Picasso Moon.

I must admit...
when I first saw the setlist, I thought that the return of st. stephen for a one night stand had passed me by all these years. I was relieved that I wasn't that out of touch.

Grate Setlist
This has got to be about the best set list ever for my taste. Of course if they could have worked in a Shakedown, Ripple, and a Dark Star it would have been the best show of all time in my opinion. I love this site and all the grate shows it has allowed me to listen to. Thank you.

St. Stephen?????
Excellent show, great recording, but... could someone change the Flash setlist to read Saint of Circumstance instead of St. Stephen? I almost had to change my underwear!

definite peak
As we all know, when Garcia was on in the mid 90's, he was on. It may have happened only a couple of times a show (if at all) but that was why we payed the dough. This show is fantastic pretty much all around. I'm especially fond of the Althea which is really sweet. What I will say, however, is that this so many roads is definetly not the best ever, as a lot of people seem to think. (don't get me wrong, it's great)That prize, without doubt, goes to shorline 9/18/94. If you haven't heard it download it right after you read this. You'll be psyched

great sounding aud.recording
this recording really captures the crowd and energy, yet still has a clean, crisp sound. Jerry is also in fine form. THE best show post 93-10/14/94 doesn't come close. Yeah the Scarlet>Fire is better from 10/14, but as a whole, this show is FAR better. Help>Slip>Franklins, THE best ever So Many Roads, Scarlet>Fire, a vocal Terrapin, and THE most elegant, heartfelt, vocal, and musically inspired Stella Blue of all time...ALL IN THE SAME SHOW. GET THIS ONE ...NOW. You will see what I mean

Jerry goes OFF on So Many Roads!!
The So Many Roads from this night brings a tear to my eye!! Jerry tears it up at the end, probably the best one ever. It reminds me of the Stellas from Richfield 3/21, and Detroit 8/1. Jerry is extremely soulful at the end of these songs. If you do not get chills, something is wrong. Help > Slip > Tower to open first set and Scarlet > Fire to open the second!! Just a fine show from 94.
