Very 1934 - Pleasant and wholesome.
Not much of a plot line, but it was entertaining and enjoyable to watch the group dynamic unfold between personable characters accompanied by some very nice low-key musical numbers.
The lead character, Larry (Edward J. Nugent), sure lives up to his role as the obnoxious blow-hard. Sterling Holloway (as Spec Early) has always annoyed me, as did Kitten's voice and laugh, but I found the other characters endearing and I've always liked Aurthur Lake (Aka: Dagwood Bumstead).
And WOW! that Lon Chaney Jr (as Don Cooper) sure was handsome in his youth (I was only familiar with his monster movie roles) plus I was blown away that he has such a nice singing voice.
If you like old B&W films this film is worth watching. I took off one star for the singing because I don't like musicals and one for the boring plot line.
