Subject: J. N. Darby's translation
Subject: J. N. Darby's translation
This is the work of J. N. Darby who also translated the entire Bible in French, a version which is still being used by some conservative evangelical churches in France today. Darby's name is not mentioned in this edition but the introduction is interesting as the translator gives a lengthy exposé of his methods and his approach to textual criticism. In the metadata the date is given as 1800 but should probably be 1870. This is the 2nd edition and it would seem there was a 3d. Note list of many errata at the back of the volume.
