Subject: Source info correction . . .
This is actually a multi channel live mixdown and not a SBD...
I patched all the sub-group outputs from the main console
(L&R main, Sub 1 vocals, Sub 2 bass, Sub 3&4 drums) as well as placed additional mics or DIs onstage, then fed it all to a Mackie 1604 VLZ, which then fed either a Sony or Tascam DAT ( I forget which... ;) )
I lie the way that you can hear the mix to tape come together through the first couple of songs... ;)

Subject: 4-piece gourds!
this is old-timey gourds with their original drummer, charlie llewellyn, and without max johnston (who hadn't joined the band yet)...so it's kind of stripped down & accordion heavy, relative to what they're doing these days. in terms of historical context, "I'm troubled" still has its a cappella ending, which subsequently (and unfortunately) disappeared, and "gin & juice" had only been in the rotation since 12/06/96, so it still has its original slow groove here. nice to hear a rare, old board recording...probably not too many of them. thanks to whomever taped & posted this one!
