January, February 1966 in Vietnam
Tay Ninh - February 22, 1966 Operation Mastiff 1st Inf Div on the Michelin Rubber Plantation find a large enemy medical center. Tunnels are found with materiel & Viet Cong, including 2 women.
Trung Lap - January 13, 1966 1st Inf Div remove refugees ahead of Operation Crimp. That night Viet Cong attack the camp with mortars. January 17 - Operation Crimp begins
Tuy Hoa - 101st Airborne capture 2 Viet Cong guerrillas. February 15, 1966 - 101st Airborne finds VC memorial; a General orders it destroyed. February 18 & 19, 1966 Operation Search Out by 101st Airborne. February 20th they are airlifted back to camp.
An Khe - On February 20th the VC tried to overrun the Signal Corps camp.
Bong Son Area - February 11th & 12, 1966 the 1st Air Cavalry are show on combat patrol, filmed during Operation Eagle Claw. Tunnels are located with hidden Viet Cong. Village destroyed by fire.
Zone D Bien Hoa - 173d Airborne load onto APCs on February 12, 1966 part of sweep so special forces could set up "A" Camp. 105mm Howitzers are shown, and assault helicopters ferrying troops to LZ.
Xom Cat - February 12, 1966 special forces troops prepare airlift to Xom Cat to set up special forces "A" Camp in the middle of Viet Cong territory. Troops are delivered via helicopter and secure campsite. CV2 Caribou airdrop supplies, including patrol boats. Airstrip area is prepared by bulldozers.
