Subject: GPTN - Penn's Peak - July 6, 2008
Potter, 25, along with the Nocturnals (Scott Tournet – Guitar, Bryan Dondero – Bass, Matt Burr – Drums) took the stage promptly at 8:00 PM as Crowes fans poured into the 1,500 capacity venue, located in the mountains of Northern PA. The opening tune “Sugar”, a new song the band has been performing live since early February, was followed nicely by a great rendition of “Mastermind”, off of the band's 2007 Hollywood Records debut release, “This Is Somewhere”. Grace stepped away from the Hammond B-3 and strapped on a guitar and traded chords with lead guitarist, Tournet, on “Stop The Bus” and single “Ah Mary”. The young blues/soul singer, went back to the organ for “Big White Gate”, a song dedicated to her late grandmother. The 7 song set closed with “If I Was From Paris” into a rockin' version “Watching You”. Grace Potter & The Nocturnals made it known at Penn's Peak that they are a band who will be around for years to come.
Here are some pictures I got from the show:

FYI, GPTN will be headlining the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA on August 9th with Hoots & Hellmouth opening the show!

Subject: Grace Potter steps it up, again
What a nice set by Grace Potter.
The new material really rocks, even more than her rockin' shows prior. Nice to have a set with all new material.
Her voice was strong as was her showmanship and playing.
Just a huge stage presence. And beautiful, as always!
Keep up the great work, Grace and Nocturnals.
Also a nice recording for such a booming venue. Thanks for making this available to all.
