the time has come for the next release of green rat records – a joint ep from two young techno producers – eric delay and martin schulte. what exactly spatial feelings and how deep they can embrace the listener, the name ‘underwater’ of ambient composition speaks by itself. the narrative comes slowly in it, drop-by-drop. echo/delay on thin guitar voice and uncommon for above-water nature sounds, amplifies the estrange effect. although there are not clear illustrations of aquatic world, the music is, as it were, sinking on the bottom of the mind. all this brings the track together with a tradition of smooth minimalism.
in kindheitstraum, on the contrary, the space, forming by techno-dub rhythmical structure, moves back to the background. on the foreground there’s a wind instrumental part that interlaces with the cocoon of external structure, but pulsates in its own way, and thereby determines the subject. the feeling, giving itself a birth in the background of noisy street, imparts sharpness and fullness to the music, keeping us float on every day consciousness.
