Subject: Howe on guitar
This is only for people who like Howe's way to play his guitar (like me), the vocals seem a bit hidden behind and muffled, the songs are difficult to recognize, but lot's of that anarchic guitar play...

Subject: good but...
While this 1-8-01 show has excellent sound quality, it does not have as dynamic a setlist as 10-15-04 (Muhle Hunziken, Rubigen, CHE). It's mostly hard alt-rock meets alt-country. It's a great Giant Sand show, but the beginner should start with the 10-15-04 show first.

Subject: fantastic performance
Be patient, at first the sound is a bit rough... but it gets much better and the performance is so fantastic that it doesn't matter that it is an audience recording.
Thank you.

Subject: one of my faves
thanks jim for putting this one up! Great version of "Out On The Weekend."
I may be wrong, but didn't members from Tracker play with Giant Sand on the "Inner Flame" from this show?

Subject: Loud 'Blues' Opera..
Excellent 3 piece show.. One of the final sets with Joey Burns on electric bass (most of the later ones would find him on upright bass). A fun night with an impromptu performance as 'Phil or Busters Blatent Blues Band' - Howe Gelb conducting! Actually an opening set (a rare thing with Giant Sand). If you like your Giant Sand loud then this one is for you!!! Enjoy..
