Subject: Guernsey Folk-Lore Review
Sir Edgar MacCulloch's early research on the compilation of Guernsey, Channel Island superstitions, legendary tales, and more is a commendable writing which was, after MacCulloch's passing in 1896, further researched and contributed to by Edith Frances Carey and published in 1903. The ability and absolute dedication of these two authors as well as those who contributed such as that of the noted Guernsey French poet Denys Corbet remains a worthy read about a little known, yet important island, who has factored into world history considerably.

An enjoyable read to say the least; one can gather a glimpse at the unique life and vivid imaginations of Guernsey inhabitants over the centuries.

Review by Christian Cardell Corbet, FRSA.
