i'm just starting to explore this band and don't know much of their work, so i will only comment on the quality of the recording- which is clear, crisp, and as easy on the ears as a live show is going to get!
awesome!

Amazing, both sound and performance(, as far as you can tell just of listening).

Impressive and lasting cut#3 - She dreamt she was a bulldozer, she dreamt she was alone in an empty field.

I've listened to a few various shows on this site for this band, and I gotta say this one is probably one of my favorites. I wouldn't call the quality "crsytal clear", however, considering this is an audience recording, the quality is probably 9/10. It's about as good as you can get when you're dealing with audience recordings.

I gave the show 5 stars because of the performance. The band was really REALLY on the ball that night. I've heard various recordings of them playing "moya" live. This is one of my favorite songs by this band, so I enjoy hearing it played well live. I think this is the best live version I've found yet. A lot of times they will have trouble with the driving build-up to the climax, but not this time. They kept the tempo tight and brought it to a wonderful climax just like the studio version.

The rest of the songs are very moving as well, lots of personal live touches you won't find on the studio versions.

Overall, I'd say if you're a fan of this band, you owe it to yourself to download this show.

Godspeed You Black Emperor is one of the more interesting bands to come out within the last ten years or so. This performance includes the entire Yanqui U.X.O album, which so far appears to be their final release. This live show boast crystal-clear sound (at least in the VBR format), and is an awe-inspiring example of the groups sound. Not only essential, but a great introduction to a great band.
