Subject: Very, very good!
The sound quality of this show is great (or as good as it gets, with that type of microphone).

I processed it with some hi-pass-filter (CUT-> 70 Hz, 12 db), some EQ (>6kHz gain) and a compressor to boost the sound, it helped a lot.

"Albanian" and "Gamelan" are fantastic songs. I've listened to some of the other recordings of Albanian and this is one of the best, playwise. Interesting to hear how they experiment(ed) with songs during tour.

"Gamelan" is definately one of GY!BE:s best moments. Too bad there isn't a proper recording availbale, but this one will do just fine. Great show!

Subject: Best Godspeed show I've yet heard.
Two awesome unreleased songs, plus a fantastic setlist, including the best version of "Moya" I've ever heard. It's not too slow or anything; it's just perfect. And the buildup is intense even by Godspeed standards. The only thing missing that would have made this set perfect is "The Sad Miafoso."

The only problem is the sound quality. It has a very nice, up-front feel, but I agree with IainTreloar: the loud parts are a bit too noisy, not because of the band but the microphone. Still, this is the definitive Godspeed show.

Subject: Fantastic show.
It's a pain in the arse actually downloading the files, the converter, then converting them to WAV, then to Mp3 so I can finally listen to them, but it's so worth it in the end. The recording quality is almost perfect.
Best live act ever.

Subject: Amazing
Best live show I've heard, excellent quality, great setlist, it all comes together, only complaints are the cut in Gamelan (the cut is handled pretty well though) and the SHN encoding (annoying to convert, not for any technical reasons), (http://etree.org/mkw.html) to get a SHN->WAV converter btw.

Subject: FAQ -its there for a reason...
fcpeace,

not to be a dick, but you need to read the FAQ

I taught my dad (49) how to do this shit, he doesn't even use the comp at all, and if he can do it, you can too.

now go to etree, and read the FAQ.

good luck and good day

5 stars for the show. Albanian and Gamelan are essential listening for any Godspeed fan, and they chose crowd favourites for the rest of the setlist. Your taste may vary.

4.5 stars for the sound quality. The bass isn't too boomy, the percussion is crisp, and the balance between the strings and the guitars is good. I think some clipping removal has been done but, if so, it's been done well.

Subject: Gamelan and Albanian? Heck yes.
As far as I know, this is one of the few shows in which GYBE! played Gamelan and Albanian, two fabulous, thus far unreleased songs. The fact that this recording has both Gamelan and Albanian, as well as a superb version of Moya and some fabulous passages off 'Lift Yr. Skinny Fists...' makes this one of the best live Godspeed You Black Emperor recordings I've ever heard. Only thing missing from this being perfect is 3rd Part, but hey, can't be picky.

Recording quality is very good indeed, almost as good as a studio album; however, when the music picks up in volume, it sounds as if the microphone might have been struggling to take all the incoming sound. This is really quite minor, however, so 5 stars for this one.
