Subject: 5 Star Recording of a 5 Star Show
Subject: 5 Star Recording of a 5 Star Show
First off, this show was an absolute blast to be at. Awesome crowd, and the band played phenomenally and looked like they were having a great time up on stage, so there were just good vibes all around.
And the quality of this recording is outstanding. You can clearly hear every instrument and the vocals, plus you still can pick up the energy of the crowd without having it interfere with the music.
If you are just checking this band out for the first time, this recording would be a great introduction to show you what they are capable of. You won't just hear amazing bluegrass, but songs inspired by African rhythms and some great covers of artists like Paul Simon and the Grateful Dead, all showcasing this band's versatility.
And of course if you already know Hot Buttered Rum, this show definitely belongs in your collection.
For those not in attendance, during the encore of Sugaree, you can hear the crowd being conducted by Nat, who was writing things such as "Weeee!" on a dry erase board and signaling the appropriate times to yell out.
Also noteworthy is a quick Bathtub Gin tease during Aaron's fiddle solo on Sugaree.
