Subject: Seeing my history through J G Black's eyes
Subject: Seeing my history through J G Black's eyes
This article is valid and true. I can easily pick up where J. G. stopped and continue it to the present. While researching family history I stumbled into this article about the Black family, my family.
As I read the words I had visions of stories told to me by my grandmother, Marcella Black, of her youth and her grandfather Samuel Black, son of David Black, named after his grandfather Samuel.
I know Guernsey County, Ohio and the Salt Fork area well. I have stood in the places mentioned in the article. The article depicts a period of time that would otherwise be forgotten except by those of us who try to continue telling the stories for our children.
Thank God for those who have preserved these words!
