Subject: Why is this public domain?
Subject: Why is this public domain?
The Elma NY Historical Society republished this book in the 1980's. So, wouldn't this be NOT public domain because of that republication? They're just a small-town museum trying to earn a few dollars (to award small scholarships to high-school essay-winners, etc.) by having republished copies printed. But no one will buy the book if it's public domain. How is that fair? Thanks for listening!
