has it covered in a succinct way. And the featured review at IMDb has a lot of other points covered. A few comments, nevertheless. John Beal is a light-weight Jack Haley in his characterization, more innocent and naive, but amazingly two-fisted when he is riled. Wanda McKay is great as his equally naive, ditzy newly wed bride and looks great in a slip. Tom Neal is hard and thuggish enough and his henchman are too. Hotel house dick Warren Hymer and Police Sgt. J. Farrell MacDonald are all inept and silly, and thereby propel the film along. And Barbara Pepper is good as a very forward gang moll. An enjoyable, if mindless, fluff of a murder mystery

It's dated, of course...sometimes in a good way (her clothes!)....and sometimes not in a good way (the word "japs").
3/5, but given an extra star because of the sets and clothes.

Subject: Wanda surprises!
Subject: Wanda surprises!
An enjoyable screwball mystery starring John Beal and Wanda McKay as newlyweds in big-city hotel. Warren Hymer is a frustrated house detective, and Tom Neal is an equally frustrated gangster. It's wedding-night frustration all around caused by a wandering corpse. My favorite line: House Dick: "Do you have your lie detector?" Police Sergeant: "No, my wife is at home."
I must admit this romp has changed my opinion of Wanda McKay. Until now I've considered her to be the Linnea Quigley of her generation - that is a good looking, enthusiastic performer with little talent. Well, Wanda fooled me with this one. She is perfect as a slightly ditzy, thoroughly naive new bride. The rest of the cast including John Beal carries the ball without a fumble. The bottom line is 69 minutes of mindless fun.
FOOTNOTES: Original release title: "One Thrilling Night" If you're not familiar with Linnea Quigley, check out "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama" and "Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers." Neither is in the public domain, or likely to show up here at IA until sometime in 2075.

A sweet, old-fashioned romantic comedy.
I downloaded the 256kb mpeg4. Video was very good; audio was a bit noisy.

A nice little movie. A case of mistaken identity on the wedding night of a young, small town couple honeymooning in the big city.
